Release notes

What changes in Spinery with every version, newest first.

Versions before 0.9 are development previews that never shipped on a store.

Version 0.9, 21 October 2026: On Google Play

  • The first version on Google Play, for the closed test.
  • The Curator knows your collection; every week it picks seven records for you, with the reason why.
  • Add a record by taking a photo of its cover.
  • Share a record: a page with cover, tracklist and previews, open for seven days.
  • Stories of records and artists; every month a look back at the collection.
  • Notifications for wishes below your limit and new suggestions.
  • Sign in with Google; choose how you sign in under “My account”.

Version 0.8, 16 October 2026: Ready for testers

  • Accept an invitation and the collection is ready: Home fills up in a few seconds.
  • Clearer messages at sign-in: who invited you, the collection being prepared, access suspended.

Version 0.7, 14 October 2026: CDs and cassettes

  • CDs and cassettes alongside vinyl in one collection, each clearly marked; filters and statistics by format.
  • Twenty suggestions per person; the More page reorganised.
  • Sturdier: a daily copy of your data, dates never filled in by guesswork.

Version 0.6, 11 October 2026: A new look

  • A new look across the app, in both themes.
  • Search by artist, album and track; prices from eBay too, quick searches on Amazon and GrooveSpin; artist pages from Discogs.
  • Open the Curator from a record, a wish, an artist or your suggestions.

Version 0.5, 30 September 2026: The Curator

  • The Curator: an AI that knows your collection and answers your questions, using a key from the provider you choose.
  • The full record page: gallery, track list, credits, videos, and your circle's corrections to any detail.
  • Previews keep playing while you browse; QR labels, profile photos, covers for records added by hand.

Version 0.4, 19 September 2026: The first Android app

  • Spinery becomes an Android app, rebuilt from scratch: everyone gets their own circle and collection.
  • Create your circle and invite whoever you like with a link; ratings, notes and wishes stay each person's own.
  • Barcode scanning with the camera, a collection with filters and sorting, wishes with prices, shelves, notifications, import from your Discogs account.

Version 0.3, 8 September 2026: Install it like an app

  • Edition search with cascading filters.
  • Live videos from YouTube on record and artist pages.
  • Export your collection as a Discogs-style CSV, and install the web app on your phone like an app.

Version 0.2, 30 August 2026: On the phone, together

  • Redesigned phone-first: icon navigation, cover grids, simpler record pages.
  • Suggestions rebuilt, with notes written by AI and previews; your collection in numbers: artists, genres, rarities.
  • See the ratings and wishes of the people you share the collection with, and a diary of what comes in.

Version 0.1, 23 August 2026: The first web version

  • The first version of Spinery, a private web app: your collection with the provenance of every record — who it came from, when, and the story behind it.
  • Add by title, artist, barcode or catalog number with details and cover art from Discogs, pick the exact edition, import a Discogs collection from a file.
  • A wish list with market prices and an alert when one drops below your threshold; shelves and categories, QR labels, suggestions and previews to listen to.

What comes next: the roadmap.
